Military spokesperson Ahmed Mohamed Ali said that border troops carried out a new strike against smugglers by destroying nine tunnels that were allegedly used for smuggling goods into Gaza from Rafa in North Sinai.
Ali said on Wednesday that a Hyundai Elantra was seized inside one of the tunnels.
Military personnel also thwarted alleged attempts to smuggle weapons and cigarettes into Egypt.
